"NIKO"
Where's
Niko today??
Niko
is our internationally traveling dog... Niko on adventure,
traveling the world...
Niko
started his grand adventures through the
US and abroad in Wisconsin. Where he went to
stay with Katrina of Kiraleea JS and proved
himself a very good stud dog. What a ball
he had out there playing in the snow and at
the farm! We found out he LOVES the
snow and rolling in the deer poop! Poor
Katrina has bathed him more times than I can
count.. Thanks Katrina!
Carina
of Isumi's Kennel in Sweden came for a visit
to Wisconsin in June 2009 and she fell
in love with Niko and wanted to bring him
back with her... so on December 23, 2009 Niko flew
to Sweden with Carina for a years stay... He
is now known as the superstud ; ) He even
has a superman costume he dones to prove it!
We miss him but know he's doing the breed
good. Carina hopes to show him at Crufts
2011... Thank you Carina and Good Luck
Niko!!
Niko
earned his first CAC in Sweden on February 21,
2010!! Way to go Carina and Niko!!!
January
2009 Santa Rosa, California.. . Niko earns
his International CH title. Niko showed
off for the judges and let them all see what
a JS from Japan looks like, he did great and
had a good deal of fun in the ring too! Way
to go Niko boy!

Niko
came to us as a gift and surprise. We were not
looking to add another male to our family. I
received an email around the beginning of fall
2007. Initially I thought it was a scam email,
but instead of erasing this one I responded.
There was a gentleman and his family, originally
from Japan, living in the Maryland area and
planning to return to Japan. They were looking
to rehome their boy Niko, who had been with
them since 2 months of age. The Japanese Spitz
is already rare in the USA, but it is even more
difficult to get a direct import from Japan
with good sound lines and the beauty that Niko
has. I did some research, contacted several
breeders worldwide, including Marco in Italy.
He did the emailing of his contacts in Japan,
looked over the pedigree and the pictures and
gave me the go ahead. This is how Niko came
to our family in September of 2007. I was also
fortunate to have a friend that lived within
an hour of Niko, who was able to eyeball him
for me and arrange for his flight to San Francisco.
According
to our kids, Niko is 'the only real dog in this
house.' Niko is quite playful. The entire group
of dogs can be in the house and within a few
minutes will settle themselves in to sleep and
relax, not Niko. He comes up to get a pet, smells
around and starts throwing balls in the air
and chases them. He will do this until the lights
go out when he will finally settle in on my
side of the bed and sleep. He is also the first
one up in the morning, doing the same thing.
He is a sock monster! He loves to play with
socks. The other day I took him for a rather
long walk, when the other dogs were tired, Niko
was ready to play, he picked up a cup someone
had tossed on the side of the road and started
throwing it in the air as we walked and chased
it. This last for about 15 minutes.
